Private Services employs caregivers that demonstrate excellent skills, experience and commitment to high standards of care and customer service. Staff are chosen after an interview, competency exam, a complete verification of professional and personal references, criminal background and health clearance according to industry regulations, and Joint Commision on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

A staff nurse routinely visits our patients and clients to supervise and support our caregivers and to insure excellent customer service. High standards are maintained through ongoing continuing education and in-service opportunities.

Diabetes Education Program - 508-495-5741
The VNA has a certified diabetes educator specializing in the care and education of people with diabetes for VNA patients (home consult visits) and community groups (facilitating education programs). The educator provides diabetes education to clinicians so they are updated on most current diabetes information and collaborates with physicians in care of their patients.

The VNA Adult Day Health Centers offer daytime care for seniors and disabled adults who are at a risk of long-term placement. Adult Day Health Centers also offer respite for the caregivers. By providing a variety of programs and services, the centers enhance the lives of members and enable them to remain in their own homes by providing the therapy and support services they require.

Both Centers are open Monday - Friday - 8am - 4-pm and provide the following services:

a private, safe, homelike setting

health care monitoring by a registered nurse

respite care

social services, recreational programs and activities

a structured exercise program

meals and snacks

transportation

ancillary services may include physical, occupational and speech therapies, barber/beauty shop services and podiatry
